Experiment with Lecture on Nothing
Many experiences in our live are framed by what we encounter first and what we encounter last. How we feel about a given experience is usually determined by these two points in time. Therefore, it is appropriate to examine a poam with this in mind. Lets look at "Lecture on Nothing". Omitting the center of the text we are left with, "I am here....that I write music." This is very interesting. It starts with a very strong statement, "I am here" and ends with, "that I write music." The frame this creates allows the reader to fill in the blank with their imagination. The reader leaves the piece with the knowledge that the author is here and that they write music.
Experiment with A Plan for a Curriculum of the Soul
Certain parts of this poam are underlined once and twice. Almost every experiment begins with an observation and then asks why. I am asking why these pieces of the poam are underlined. In order to get a better idea of why these words are underlined I isolated the single underlined pieces from the rest of the poam and tried reorganizing there positions in space. This is what happened:

Where paper medium was taken from
Here are the pieces of prose arranged in a 5 x 4 matrix (the locations of the individual pieces was chosen based on their size in order to give the matrix straighter, flatter sides) :

The words read as follows:
perspective soul belief Phenomenological
activity create vertical incremental example
A Plan for a Curriculum of the Soul Heaven art dance
physical matter Attention Sensation
Egyptian hieroglyphs playing God Analytical Psychology
A very interesting result. Different matrices of the pieces could be formed in the same manner. Any n x m matrix in which the product of n and m is twenty would work. The result of creating these matrices would have similar external frames with slightly different internal frames. Using the matrix as an external frame limits the possible outcomes.
Lets look at what happens to the pieces when there spacial arrangement is determined by natural forces with little human interaction. In order to do this I will drop the words from approximately 1 foot onto a table. I am going to drop the pieces with the side containing text facing up. This is the result:

Surprising only one of the pieces landed face down. The word that landed facing down was activity. I find this arrangement of the words the most appealing. The way the words are interacting with each other is fascinating. Some are touching only on edges, some with surfaces, and some are not interacting with others at all.

Thoughts on Lorca Variations (XXVIII)
This poam is framed externally by the belief in a second reality or an unattainable human dimension. The poam is framed internally by the movement of the turtle between this second reality and the reality that we have access to. The turtle is able to move between these two realities as thus frames the poam internally.
Thoughts on Postscript Culture of Head Wraps
I believe that I was able to find both internal and external framing. I believe that the poam is externally framed by "Black Muslim" women, especially the head wraps of these women. The head wraps that these women wear are an external frame that the poam builds within, the poam is built inside of the head wraps that Black Muslim women wear. An internal frame of the poam are the knuckles of the aunt. Her knuckles create volume for the poam inside of the head wraps.
Thoughts on Internal and External Framing
Emotions are a very important frame for me. Emotions control how I view the world, they are the lens through which I am constantly looking through. The goal of my research is to better understand how emotions themselves are framed. What creates them? What are their life cycles? How do they die? Can I control them? What does it even mean to control my emotions? Can I use something to control itself? These questions are yet to be answered. The method I am going about to find answers is self-reflection and self-awareness and I am using poetry as the vehicle for it.
My emotions are the product of external and internal framing. External systems have an impact on my emotional systems; however, the internal framing of emotions seems to be much stronger then the external. Using a tree blowing in the wind is a nice analogy to think of. The tree itself is a particular emotion. The tree is internally framed by its roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. The tree is externally framed by the wind. The tree has a given shape due to its internal framing; however, the wind can change that shape to a degree depending on its direction and strength.

The constant wind in this image has externally framed the tree to grow in this shape.

Thoughts on Railing Against Opacity
Beautiful. The ability to see beyond the surface of an object or a system is what we all crave. The outer surface is an interesting place; however, it is desirable to know what is occurring beyond the outer surface. These images are an attempt to view the 3-dimensional insides of an object, to get past the 2-dimensional outer surface. I find any single emotion to be void of surfaces. Surfaces are created by emotions when different emotions interact with one another, creating surfaces of interaction between them.
